The Perfect Fit

Below you will find some tips that will help you choose sizes to achieve the BEST fit. Because each manufacturer sizing is a bit different we ask that you refer to our supplied sizing charts for your best fitting sizes.

Please take time to measure yourself for the perfect fit.

How to measure your size correctly:

Always take the time to obtain your current, correct measurements!  Doing so will ensure that you will receive the proper size swimsuit - please keep in mind that due to hygenic reasons, most swimwear sellers offer NO exchanges or returns on swimwear if it doesn't fit.  Swimwear sizing is NOT standardized between brands and manufacturers, so the same size medium from another company may be completely different from a medium from us!

Keep in mind that swimwear is supposed to fit tightly when it's dry - most all swimwear increases up to a half-size when wet.  Ever see someone with 'droopy drawers' at the beach?  Likely the result of purchasing a swimsuit that was a size too big.  Getting your accurate size information will prevent this from happening to you!

For the best results, have someone else take the measurements for you.  Also, to be most accurate it's best to measure while wearing undergarments (ie. bra and panties) only.  You won't get proper numbers if you measure over your clothing!

Use a cloth or sewing tape measure to take your Bust, Waist, and Hip measurements in inches.  If you don't have a cloth tape measure, simply use a length of string or yarn and measure the string using a ruler afterwards.

Bust:

While standing up straight, measure around your bust at the fullest part.  Keep the tape parallel to the floor.  Make sure to keep the measuring tape snug, but not tight.  If your measurement is between sizes when comparing to the size chart, please order the LARGER size.

Waist:

Find your "natural" waistline crease by bending to the side.  Then, measure around this point starting and ending at your belly button.  Generally you'll be taking this measurement around the narrowest (smallest) part of your waist.

Hips:

This measurement should be taken around the hips at the widest (largest) point, just above where your thigh begins to narrow.  Again, make sure to keep the tape measure parallel to the floor.  Again, if this measurement is between sizes based on our size chart, please order the LARGER size.

OK, I have my numbers, now what do I do?

Most swimsuit brands and sellers have their own size chart.  Compare your measurements with the size chart for each brand or seller that you are considering!

Helpful Hits and Body Types:

Hourglass;
These body types have balance shoulders and hips with a smaller waist. If this is you, you're lucky because just about any classic styled bikini, one piece suit should flatter your figure.

Large Bust;  To support your body type tops with underwire cups would be best. You can minimize your overflowing cups with spaghetti straps or wide straps on you bikini top or swimsuit. Busty women can also try a sports top. These tops keep everything in place and add the comfort of full coverage.

Apple Shaped;   These body frames have broader shoulders and smaller hips. Two-piece bikinis or tankinis or camkinis with a solid color top and a patterned bottom will give you a more balance appearance.

Pear Shaped;   Body types have larger hips and smaller shoulders with a waist that is larger than the shoulders. One-piece bathing suits with tummy control or other design feature that create the illusion of a waist line will be the most flattering.

Small Bust;  To enhance a smaller bust try a halter bikini top that has a seam just under the bust line or a lightly padded or line top. Swim wear with texture can also help detract attention away from your bust line if you feel
self-conscious.

Fuller Bottom;  Skirted swim suits and banded bottom bikinis are back in style and can be found in many different patterns and styles. The skirt or banding flatters a fuller bottomed body type and will give you a more balance look. You may also want to try on a few hipster short styles as well. Both of these options offer a little more coverage on the bottom.

Slender, Athletic;   These body types have shoulders, waist and hips that are the similar in width. One-piece or bikini suits with detailing around the waist will help create a more hourglass shape. Try a wrap style top or a belted bathing suit bottom to create more waist definition.

Bikinis:

You will get the best fit if you choose top and bottom sizes separately when buying a bikini or a two piece suit.

Tops:

If you are larger-cupped, it might be easier to get a perfect fit from back tie styles such as Triangle or Halter tops.

Back strap and hook closure styles, such as Strapless Classic and Under-wire tops generally are adjustable in three levels, about 2 inches each ( 5cm )

Most under-wire tops generally have built in light padding and push-up pad pockets to enhance and shape your breast.

Bottoms:

If you prefer more coverage or the position of your belly button is high, we suggest that you order up a size.
G-String is a FREE sized bottom. You can choose from either regular or full figure.

One Piece Suits:

Order your One Piece suit according to the and One Piece suit and dress size according to our charts. Not all sizing is the same from one manufacturer to another.

Dresses & Casuals:

Please refer to our supplied sizing charts, they are specifically for UjENA swimwear and fashions, as mentioned previously. You may be a different size from one manufacturer to another.

Recommended Swimsuit Care

Follow these simple guidelines to make your new suits last longer:

- Hand-wash the swimsuit prior to the first wear to set the colours.

- After wearing the swimsuit, hand-wash the suit in a mild detergent, rinse well,
hang or lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight.

- Make sure that ALL body and suntan oils are removed from the swimsuit.
If not, these oils will destroy the elasticity of the swimsuit.

- Don't leave the suit soaking overnight in a bundled, wadded up or rolled up in a towel.
This will cause the colors to bleed.

- Don't use Woolite brand cleaner, bleach or dry the swimsuit in a clothes dryer.
All will destroy the elasticity of the suit.
